Sometimes you may come in for an eyelid correction, but the physician may determine that a brow lift is a better option based on your situation. During the consultation, we provide honest and expert advice and create a treatment plan that combines our expertise with your wishes. If you agree with the treatment plan, the procedure can be scheduled, even immediately after the consultation.
Each treatment begins with thorough cleansing and disinfection of the skin. The skin of the eyelids is then numbed with small injections. You will feel these injections, but they are not painful. After the numbing, the cosmetic physician marks the excess skin to be removed, according to the treatment plan. The cosmetic physician then cuts away the excess skin and any excess fat. This is done in the eyelid crease, so that the scar is not visible. The incision is then closed with fine sutures, and the eyelids are covered with small plasters. After a brief rest and explanation of all aftercare tips, you can go home. Please note that you cannot drive after an eyelid correction, so plan accordingly. An upper eyelid correction takes an average of 45 minutes (including consultation).
The skin of the eyelids may be sensitive, swollen, and bruised for up to a week after the upper eyelid correction. After a week, the stitches will be removed in the clinic, and we will conduct a follow-up appointment. Be careful with makeup after an eyelid correction. Do not apply makeup to the eyes for the first two weeks after the treatment and avoid rubbing. Do not visit the gym, tanning bed, or sauna for the first two weeks after the treatment.
