If you experience discomfort due to excessively large inner or outer labia, it can significantly affect your daily life. Activities like sitting and cycling can become painful, and excessively prominent labia can also cause issues during intercourse.
Fortunately, labiaplasty under local anesthesia can easily resolve this problem. During a labiaplasty procedure, excess skin is removed, ensuring that you no longer have to deal with protruding labia. Prior to the procedure, we conduct a comprehensive consultation where we listen to your desires and provide honest and expert advice.
At Ageworth, a labiaplasty always begins with a consultation. One of our surgeons will discuss your goals, desires, and needs before the procedure. By engaging in this conversation, we can develop an ideal treatment plan that combines our expertise with your wishes. During the consultation, you can ask the surgeon any questions you may have, allowing you to undergo the treatment with confidence. If you agree with the treatment plan, we can proceed with scheduling the procedure.
Labiaplasty is performed under local anesthesia. The surgeon marks the skin of the labia and removes any excess tissue. After the procedure, the blood vessels are cauterized, and the wound is sutured with dissolvable stitches. To absorb any potential wound fluid, we cover the wound with a sterile gauze pad. A labiaplasty typically takes about 60 minutes.
After a labiaplasty, you can leave the clinic after a 30-minute rest period. Keep in mind that you should not drive yourself after the procedure, so plan accordingly for your appointment. In the first few days following the labiaplasty, you may experience redness and sensitivity in the labia. This typically subsides within a few days. Avoid wearing tight pants during the initial weeks after the procedure, and be cautious when bending or lifting. Refrain from cycling, horseback riding, exercising, and sexual intercourse for the first six weeks. To aid in skin recovery, we recommend using a specialized scar cream.
