The process
A breast augmentation at Ageworth always begins with a consultation. One of our surgeons will have a conversation with you prior to the procedure to understand your goals, desires, and needs. Whether you wish to change the size of your breasts or primarily address their shape, we combine our expertise with your wishes to create an ideal treatment plan. During the consultation, you can ask any questions you may have to ensure that you feel confident about the treatment. If you agree with the treatment plan, the procedure can be scheduled.
Different implants
Every breast augmentation is tailored to your unique needs, which means the surgeon may choose from different implant shapes and placement techniques. The shape of the implant depends on your desires and the amount of existing breast tissue you have. All our implants are safe and approved nationally and in Europe. The choice of implant placement technique depends on your body and existing breast tissue, which the surgeon will assess and discuss the chosen implants and technique with you beforehand.
The treatment
A breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia to ensure that you feel no discomfort or awareness during the procedure. The surgeon marks the breasts and makes an incision (3 to 5 centimeters) in a discreet location, often in the breast crease. The implant is inserted through the incision, and then the incisions are closed with sutures. To allow for the drainage of any fluid, two small drains are inserted and will be removed once no more fluid is draining. A breast augmentation typically takes around 60 to 90 minutes.
Aftercare
In the first few days following the breast augmentation, you may experience pain and tightness in the breasts, which usually subsides within a few days. The scars may appear red and thickened during the first six weeks, with the complete healing process of scars taking an average of one year. To aid in the skin’s recovery, we recommend using a specialized scar cream. For a smooth recovery, it is recommended to wear a supportive, non-underwire bra day and night for the first six weeks after the breast augmentation. Avoid sports activities, tanning beds, and saunas for the first six weeks.
