Long-lasting facial rejuvenation with minimal scarring
The MACS facelift (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension lift) is a modern, refined facelift technique designed to lift the mid- and lower face with natural and long-lasting results. By using vertical suspension sutures and a small incision in front of the ear, this method creates a youthful contour while preserving your unique facial expression — with minimal scarring and reduced recovery time.
At Ageworth Clinics, the MACS facelift is performed under local anesthesia, by a plastic surgeon with over 25 years of experience. The procedure takes approximately 120 minutes, and is ideal for those looking for a structural lift without the invasiveness of a traditional full facelift.
Each treatment begins with a personal consultation. We assess the skin, facial volume, and degree of sagging in the cheeks, jawline, and neck. Based on your anatomy and wishes, we create a custom treatment plan. If desired, the MACS lift can be combined with complementary treatments such as eyelid surgery or skin boosters. Once the plan is approved, your procedure can often be scheduled directly.
After cleansing and local anesthesia, a short incision is made along the front of the ear, sometimes extending slightly into the hairline. Through this access point, the deeper tissues of the face (SMAS layer) are lifted vertically using internal suspension sutures. This technique restores the natural shape of the cheeks, jawline, and lower face without overstretching the skin. The incision is closed with fine sutures, and a light dressing is applied.
Mild swelling and bruising are expected and typically resolve within 1–2 weeks. You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions and have a follow-up appointment at the clinic. Avoid strenuous activity for 2 weeks, and sleep on your back with your head elevated. Final results appear around 6–8 weeks post-treatment.
The result of a MACS facelift lasts approximately 8 to 12 years, depending on individual factors such as age, skin elasticity, and lifestyle. It is one of the most reliable and natural-looking facelift techniques available today.
