Reduce under-eye bags and achieve a refreshed look
Under-eye puffiness and sagging skin can give you a permanently tired or aged appearance. A lower eyelid correction (lower blepharoplasty) is a safe and effective procedure to remove excess skin and fat beneath the eyes — restoring a fresher, more youthful expression.
At Ageworth, this procedure is performed under local anesthesia by a plastic surgeon with over 25 years of experience. The surgery takes approximately 60 minutes, and recovery is generally smooth with minimal downtime.
Before the procedure, we always begin with a personal consultation. One of our physicians will assess your under-eye area, listen to your concerns and expectations, and provide expert advice. If you are a suitable candidate, a tailored treatment plan will be created. In some cases, a combination with another procedure (e.g., fat repositioning or skin tightening) may be advised for optimal results. The treatment can often be scheduled immediately following the consultation.
The skin is first cleansed and disinfected. Then, small injections are used to numb the lower eyelids. After marking the area according to the treatment plan, the surgeon removes excess skin and, if needed, excess fat. The incision is made just below the lash line, allowing the scar to heal discreetly. The area is then closed with fine sutures, and small plasters are applied. After a short rest and explanation of the aftercare instructions, you may go home. Please arrange transport, as driving is not allowed post-procedure.
Mild swelling and bruising around the lower eyelids may occur during the first week. Stitches are removed after 5–7 days during a follow-up visit. Avoid makeup around the eyes for the first two weeks, and refrain from using the gym, sauna, or tanning bed. Applying a nourishing scar cream may help the healing process.
Final results are visible after about three months. Most patients enjoy long-lasting results for 10–15 years, depending on skin type, genetics, and lifestyle.
